Ecclesiast, just like you start all the other garden quests. :-P  Go up the spiral and face teh spirit dungeon (middle of the three bridges).  Go left instead of straight.  Mob is in there.

Hm... I talked to Empath, got Old piece of clothing something, but Sipious won't give me the key - the only thing I can talk with him about is that I already have the key and wan't to help him with some spirit... Huh?

The pocket boss drops an item in your inventory, notum cloth or something, when it despawns.  This garden key quest is a pain in the ass now. I screwed up the first time, adding the novictum at the wrong time and had to get another pattern. I lost HUGE amounts of faction. Only way to do this properly is to pay/ask some omni to run around and kill them for you and you loot the patterns. Either that or lose most of your faction just trying to get that 1 pattern you need

Anyone here know where I can find a complete guide to this key because after reading this whole thread it just looks like a big mess where nothing is for sure.

My experiences with this quest.

I can not be sure, but I think that I didnt have to target any Orca statue in partiqular or wait for any mission update before going to talk to Sipious. I just clicked an insignia (Not the one I got from Ecc) on the closest statue and the mission didnt change. Went on with the quest as described.

I have found that the pattern parts drop from both Red and Unred mobs in Scheol temples and that they drop more inside the temples, near the prophet, than outside of them.

Edit: Btw, if you plan on doing both Garden and Sanct quest you will need total of three complete patterns. So might as well get them all in one run.

now he won't give me the key.

There has been much talk about looting the required patterns from Redeemed mobs ... That is NOT necessary, as there is a reasonable (not good) drop rate from Unredeemed mobs in the Prophet room inside the Temple Bog.

Just did this last night with an alt, hadn't even bothered with the quest at all before because of the problems with it. First of all the problems then was the fact that the unred mobs did not drop the pattern parts till recently, and I really didn't feel like messing with that. Now the unred mobs do drop them, though no where near the frequency of our own but then there are a few things likie that in SL including, I'm told, Tier1 and Tier2 embrios.

First off the steps here are correct to a point. Targetting the statue did not click over the mission, only talking to the sipious did. They may have removed some of this at Funcom to streamline the quest some, who knows. Got all the things done that my alt had to do, had someone else do the NP skill part, novictalized the crystal after, then spawned the Empath once I got the go ahead.

Pattern + crystal filled by the source then Novi, all ready. Ran to the incarnator, had to use the 160 as 2 200+ omnis seemed to be having trouble killing off Misery at the 140.

Empath, right click on her to start talking and she Poofed! I didn't even get to read 3 lines of her dialog before she was pulled back. Seems this still isn't 100% fixed, it's a known issue but I petitioned it anyway after all that work.

Once you get the fabric bit and go back to the garden to hand it in it seems you jump into the sanc key quest dialog rather fast, not really sure I want to do it but hey I might. My alt has her garden key now in any case so that's something good out of a long night
