I fiddled around a bit with those half-digested parts, but I always
seem to break the contained implant.

Is there certain tools or skills required to successfully remove the
flesh from the implant without breaking it?

Regards,

Just right clicking it usually works for me. The, every implant have a set chance to be sucessfully converted to a working implant.

I've been told that a Bio-communicator can make it 100% salvageable Smiley

And I got yelled at when I passed those in a backpack full of monster parts to someone to be plasma-ized.  Was told "you nearly broke my bio-communicator!"  Dunno if she was being sarcastic or what.

It will, but the communicator disappears in the process.

Its rumoured that the higher your B&E skill the better your chances of recovering the implant from the half-digested mass.

Don't know how true that is Hero

My 190 Engi with over 800 B&E seems to break as many, if not more, implants as my keeper with barely 100 B&E.

Actually I think my keeper has had a better run on pulling them out to be honest. Don't know if it's luck or some untapped talent he has though.

And on an aside about the Bio communitor thing

If you look at  any of the info of any of the half-digested parts they all seem to have a percentage chance to remove an implant (all the ones I've seen are 76% if I remember rightly)

If you use a bio-comm on the part it a) uses the bio comm up and b) changes the percentage chance to 100%

At the lower end of the scale, this just isn't worth it as the bio-comms cost more than the resultant implants would sell for. Even at the higher end it's a toss up on the net worth return on your investment. Personall, I say just right click em and see if you get a surprise inside.
